What it is
A detent track with tighter groove spacing than the standard one. On the LAUTIE Choc, the dense plate lists 0.9 mm spacing and works with 3 mm beads only.
How it feels in your EDC
The ball crosses more grooves in the same stroke, so the push turns into a quick run of small steps instead of a few distinct ones. Some dense plates also add a strong strike at the end of the stroke, sold as an end-impact plate.
Good to know
Dense tracks often need a specific bead size. Check the bead and spring before swapping plates.
