What it is
ZircTi is a patterned composite made from layers of zirconium and titanium or titanium alloys bonded together. Also commonly called Zircuti, it belongs to the same family of layered decorative metals as titanium Damascus, but includes zirconium. Specific grades, proportions and patterns depend on the material supplier. It is not ordinary Damascus steel or a pattern printed onto plain zirconium.
How it feels in your EDC
Its main appeal is the contrast between colorful titanium layers and zirconium layers that can turn dark gray or black with controlled heat treatment. Flowing lines make each piece visually distinctive. Weight and feel depend on the layer mix, component size and surface finish. Makers may use it for bodies, buttons, beads or inlays; the material alone does not guarantee a particular sound or spin time.
Care & aging
Surface colors can change with abrasion, especially on raised edges. Start with a soft cloth and follow the maker's cleaning advice. Avoid abrasive polishes and harsh chemicals that could alter the contrast or oxide colors. Keep cleaning liquids away from bearings, magnets and internal mechanisms. Recoloring requires a process suited to the specific material, so consult the maker rather than heating it yourself.
