What it is
Lubrication reduces friction and wear. Thin or dry lubricants give speed and sound; thicker oils and greases give quiet, dampened motion and protection.
Why it matters
Use very little. Too much attracts dirt and can kill clicks or spin. Ask the maker what the piece shipped with before changing it.
