Dry Lube

At a glance

Short name
Dry Lube
Type
Spec
Written by: FZEDC

A very light lubricant, or none, used to let a bearing spin as freely as possible.

What it is

In the spinner world, running dry means a bearing has been cleaned of thick grease and left with little or very thin lubricant. Some players use dry-film products; others run bearings with none.

Why it matters

Dry setups spin longer and sound louder, but wear faster and are less protected from dust and moisture. Heavier lube spins shorter and quieter but lasts longer.

Also known as: Dry Lubricant, Thin Lube,
