What it is

608 is a standard metric deep-groove ball bearing: 8 mm bore, 22 mm outside diameter and 7 mm width. It is widely made and widely available.

Why it matters

It is larger and heavier than R188, so it suits bigger, chunkier spinners. Quality varies enormously between makers, so the size number does not guarantee smoothness.
