Hybrid Ceramic Bearing

At a glance

Short name
Hybrid Ceramic Bearing

Written by: FZEDC

A bearing with ceramic balls running in steel races.

What it is

A hybrid ceramic bearing combines ceramic balls, commonly silicon nitride or zirconia, with steel inner and outer races. Ceramic balls are lighter and harder than steel balls.

Why it matters

Players choose hybrids for low friction and a distinct sound. Real-world spin time also depends on lubrication, shielding, cleanliness and the spinner itself, so ceramic alone does not guarantee a longer spin.

Also known as: Hybrid Ceramic, Hybrid Bearing,
