A mechanical movement wound by turning the crown by hand.

A manual-wind movement is a mechanical movement powered by a mainspring that the wearer winds by turning the crown. Unlike an automatic, it has no rotor to wind itself from wrist motion.

Many collectors enjoy the daily ritual of winding and the thinner movement it allows.
