Extremely dense; tiny size, serious heft in hand.
What it is
Tungsten is one of the densest metals you will find in EDC. Pure tungsten is about 19.3 g/cm³, roughly two and a half times the density of Stainless Steel. EDC makers often use a tungsten alloy or tungsten carbide rather than pure tungsten, and the exact material depends on the maker. It commonly appears in weights, beads, inserts and spinner rings.
How it feels in your EDC
Even a small tungsten piece feels surprisingly heavy, giving a compact, concentrated weight in your hand. Makers often place it where mass matters most, such as the outer rim of a spinner or the core of a slider, to change balance and momentum. Results still depend on the full design, including bearings, weight distribution and fit.
Care & aging
Tungsten and tungsten carbide are very hard and resist everyday scratches well, so they tend to keep their look for a long time. That hardness also makes them brittle: a hard drop onto stone or tile can chip or crack them. Wipe it with a soft cloth, and avoid knocking it against other hard objects.
