A folding knife with two handles that rotate around the blade to open and close it.

What it is

A balisong, also called a butterfly knife, is a folding pocketknife from the Philippines. Its two handles rotate around the tang, and when closed the blade is hidden inside them. A latch usually holds the handles together.

In your EDC

Flipping a balisong is a skill and a hobby of its own. Many enthusiasts practise with blunt balisong trainers, which are popular fidget tools. Balisong knives are restricted in some countries, so check local laws.
