What it is
Resin in EDC usually means a cast resin, such as epoxy or polyester, poured as a liquid and cured into a solid. Makers can add pigments, metal flakes, glow powder or combine it with wood to create translucent, swirled, galaxy-like or hybrid looks. The resin type and additives depend on the maker, so no two pours look quite the same.
How it feels in your EDC
Resin is light and feels smooth and warm in hand, with a glassy or satin surface depending on the finish. Its strength is visual: depth, color and translucency that metal can't offer. It is often used for scales, inlays, beads and buttons, and pairs well with metal frames that add weight and structure.
Care & aging
Resin does not rust, but it is softer than metal and can pick up fine scratches with daily carry. Long exposure to strong sunlight or heat may cause some resins to yellow or soften over time. Clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap, avoid solvents such as acetone, and keep it away from keys and coins in your pocket.
